Chavie Lichtenberg, LMHC

My style of therapy is client-centered and flexible. Although my education is the backbone of my work, I am not thinking about textbooks in our sessions; I prefer to really appreciate the unique qualities and stories of each individual and use my instincts moment to moment.

If you are someone who needs a gentle hand to guide you, I can be that person for you. If you respond better to a more direct/ “tough love” approach, I can be that person as well. My therapy strategies are adaptive. What you can always expect is compassion, commitment to your wellbeing, respect, and a judgment-free space. I strive to integrate a relaxed environment with an atmosphere of professionalism that encourages deep and meaningful therapeutic work for each of my individual clients.

I received my master’s degree in mental health counseling at Fordham University in 2014. I have worked with people of all ages and backgrounds. Prior to becoming licensed, I worked in special education and provided family therapy in underserved communities. Since becoming licensed in early 2019, I have mainly worked with couples and individuals. And since March 2020, I have grown increasingly grateful for technology that allows us to connect so easily!

I can help.

Anxiety

It can feel like a weight on your chest, a racing heart, or persistent worries. Therapy is a valuable tool to address the intensity of anxious thoughts and feelings in response to daily life.

Depression

Depression is more than just feeling sad; it's a mental health condition characterized by persistent feelings of hopelessness, despair, and a loss of interest or pleasure in activities you once enjoyed. Therapy is a supportive and safe place to explore underlying issues and develop coping strategies.

Stress

Stress is the mind-body response to a perceived change or challenge. It can be perceived/used positively or negatively.

A range of strategies can help channel the stress response in more favorable ways.
